PHILADELPHIA — Cherry Hill native Shira Tarantino is a diehard Phillies fan. Her husband, Allie, bleeds Brewers blue.

On Wednesday, as they sat outside Citizens Bank Park — Shira in her Phillies pinstripes and Allie in his Brewers shirt and cap — the two placed a bet on their unborn child.

“I’m expecting a Phillies fan,” said Shira, who now lives in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Baby Tarantino moved one step closer to bleeding Phillies red Wednesday when Brad Lidge survived a ninth-inning scare by striking out Corey Hart to preserve a 3-1 win over the Brewers.

The win was the Phillies’ first postseason victory since 1993 and gave them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five National League Division Series.

WOW!  I can’t believe our baby is already making headlines.  When Allie was in utero, he saw Elvis live.  When I was in utero, I attended a Helen Reddy concert.  Now we have an in utero story for our baby, too!
